The metropolis is a chaotic entity. Webs of public spaces, connected through ridged systems. Streetlights, security cameras, motion sensors, advertising screens. Systems embedded in our landscape that are constantly observing us, attempting to communicate, interact and influence.

Scopaesthesia is the creeping feeling of something’s eyes staring in the back of your head. Something unknown watching. Perceiving us with uncertain goals and unintelligible intentions. This cross-disciplinary work inhabits and contemplates our public space through the eyes of the invisible systems around us.

Created for Melbourne Fringe’s Digital Discovery program, in partnership with Dublin Fringe. Exhibited in Testing Ground’s public art park in 2022.
